At Sensory Speaking, we provide pediatric speech therapy, language intervention, AAC support, and literacy-based learning services for children and homeschool families across Northeast Florida. We proudly serve families in Mandarin/Jacksonville, North St. Johns County, Clay County (Keystone Heights), Bradford County (Starke), and surrounding communities through in-home, community-based, and virtual services. Our practice specializes in supporting children with speech delays, language disorders, autism, ADHD, apraxia, dyslexia, social communication challenges, developmental delays, and learning differences from birth through adolescence.
Sensory Speaking offers individualized, evidence-based therapy and educational support tailored to each child’s unique strengths and needs. Our services include speech-language evaluations, early intervention, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), articulation therapy, expressive and receptive language therapy, homeschool learning support, reading intervention and tutoring, and parent coaching. We are especially passionate about partnering with homeschool families to create functional communication, literacy, and learning strategies that carry over into everyday routines and academic instruction.
Our therapy approach is child-led, neurodiversity-affirming, play-based, and family-centered, making sessions engaging, meaningful, and effective. We incorporate movement, sensory supports, literacy activities, play, and real-world communication opportunities to help children build confidence and independence in natural environments. No two therapy sessions are the same because every child learns differently. Communication has always been at the heart of what we do, and our passion for speech-language therapy grew through years of working with children and families across schools, early intervention, outpatient clinics, and community settings. Before founding Sensory Speaking, we gained extensive experience supporting children with autism, speech and language delays, AAC needs, dyslexia, and complex communication disorders in both educational and medical environments.
We created Sensory Speaking because we saw a growing need for individualized, family-centered speech therapy and literacy support services — especially for homeschool families seeking flexible, evidence-based care tailored to their child’s unique learning style. We are passionate about helping children build communication, literacy, and developmental skills that increase confidence, independence, and success at home, in the community, and beyond.
